This was the first week in (back in?) this new (old?) role where I really felt like I was out of the old management role. I’m still doing some hand-holding as my replacement does certain things for the first time, and I’m still handing a few last things off, but I also got a lot of hyperfocus time thinking about and working on the new thing, and that felt pretty good.

  • I filled out my ballot early in the week, and then dropped it off at a downtown drop box on Friday. Slightly sad I won’t get my usual ritual of dropping off at the drive-thru box by the courthouse on Election Day, but I’m gonna be down in Cali on Election Day, so needs must
  • The rains finally came back and I (and I suspect most other Western Oregonians) could not be happier
  • Tuesday was my one year anniversary in this current gig, and what a wild year it’s been — especially to have it loop back around at the end and dump me back out into essentially the role I was hired to do a year ago. Still happy and excited to be here!

  • Wednesday: mozzarella chicken, green beans
  • Thursday: hot dogs, and probably the last caprese of the season

looking forward to

Gonna be on the road all next week, which means I’m already looking forward to how good it will feel to get back home…
