A randomly socially extremely busy week, combined with a big uptick in my efforts at work to step away from my old role and actually get to work in my new one…

did

  • There was another whiskey club tasting Sunday, which was fun — we were tasting from three different barrels of the same whiskey, and voting on which one will end up being bottled and made available to club members
  • Tuesday, I took Hops for an outing in a new cat carrier backpack. Everything was going swimmingly until he got either anxious or motion-sick, and the treats that I’d given him to help him settle into the new carrier came back up. We will try again in a little while — I at least want to get him leash trained once he’s big enough that I’m not worried about him slipping the harness
  • There was a Hack Salem Wednesday; somebody talked a little about using Blender and some “unfolding” plugins to make it easier to build cosplay costumes that can be unfolded, printed, cut out, and assembled — not at all my cup of tea, but interesting!
  • Saturday, Ms24 had a Special Olympics swim meet up in Newberg, so we got up way too early and schlepped up there. She had fun

  • Finished Killing Floor, started Die Trying (book 2 in the Reacher series)
  • Did a poor job of reducing the bookmark backlog, which currently is back up to 163

Next week is the busiest travel week I’ve had in a hot minute: PDX-SFO on Sunday, SFO-SAN-AUS on Wednesday, AUS-SEA-PDX on Saturday. Also my one-year anniversary is next Tuesday, it will feel good to tick that box!
