I spent most of the week fighting a cold — not feeling sick enough to not work, but also struggling with keeping my voice, with finding times in between meetings to blow my nose again, and consuming what felt like gallons of herbal tea — which my body insisted on converting directly into mucus.

  • this was just a pretty blah/meh week, overall
  • Saturday I played in an UNO tournament at my local, which was fun — I won in the first round, and then lost in the second round; defeated by a six year old, in the end

  • my current book reading is rotating among Tiny Habits, The 4-Hour Chef, and The Atrocity Archives — the latter on account of Charlie Stross’s last Laundry novel being published, and me deciding I’d re-read the whole set before tackling the new one
  • “to read” bookmark count: 202 — not a great week here either…

watched

  • Roger Daltrey and Sinead O’Conner cover Baba O’Reily
  • TheWife and I continue to binge Criminal Minds; we’re into season 16 — all the later seasons seem to only be 10 episodes each, so I expect we’re going to be done with this one sooon

  • Tuesday: nachos with leftover carnitas
  • Wednesday: roasted chicken, green beans with garlic and bacon
