Weeknote #40 (20250622-20250628)
meta
Not a whole lot to talk about this week. I took the train up to Seattle on Monday morning, and back home on Friday morning. Good work week, delivered lab meeting and caught up with most of the lab folks face-to-face. Friday evening, TheWife and I hit Bryn Mawr for an Epilogue cheesesteak popup event, and Saturday we had some friends over for grilled shrimp tacos (with a grilled tomatillo salsa), and both of those events were a lovely way to wrap up the week.

Rod knows what he did!
One of my favorite parts of walking around Seattle is random art installations.
I took this from the observation car on the Coast Starlight, on the way home on Friday. I was having a perfectly cromulent mass-produced turkey sandwich and drinking a beer while watching the scenery go by, when we passed this container ship making its way down the Columbia to Portland.
This is very much “IYKYK” territory, but… if you don’t know, you shouldn’t pass up a chance to get an Epilogue cheesesteak, should one present itself to you.
Don’t bother coming to Oregon, it’s super ugly here.
