Wow, MondayTuesday already…
- CryoPID -- out-of-the-box, no special set up, no special privs, no root account requirement process serialization to file under Linux. Potentially seriously cool for any number of applications. (Example: have a misbehaving process on a production machine where you're not allowed access to debugging tools? Freeze the process, move it to a development machine, debug. Lather, rinse, repeat.)
- Why you should be using disambiguated URLs -- good arguments for doing this, but there's also a significant legacy support issue as well as some cost/benefit analysis.
- joey on bug scribbling. This technique could be useful for some people at $ORK; must figure out a graceful way to suggest...
- Online version of Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs -- for later reference.
- LISA06 Configuration Workshop notes
- Luke and Puppet make ComputerWorld.
- Luke considers the current state of systems administration and then slaps some faces and throws some gloves around. I need to set down and think up a coherent response to this article, but I'm not sure when that's going to happen.
- EFF stickers
- Two to relay to work: Tim Bray on Berkeley on Parallelism and Threads suck. Well, okay, maybe not that last one.
- soafacts.com: "SOA in a Nutshell is 7,351 pages spread over 10 volumes." Heh.
- Apache::Logmonster -- yet another thing to look into...
- Because I had occasion to google it: the text to the Super Happy Fun Ball skit.
- Gripped Films, makers of Off Road to Athens has a new film, 24 Solo coming out in April, and it looks like it will really good -- I'm considering heading down for the premiere. Here's a Velonews story about one of the subjects of the film; it seems like it might contain some spoilers (as much as you can have spoilers for a documentary...) Anyway, cyclists and masochists (but I repeat myself) should check it out.
